a stitch in time

the best halloween costume ever was made a reality today... although i don't know when i'll get to wear it.

i'm sure it will be like my "maverick" costume... always at the ready in my closet. although i can image wearing it on more occasions, and thus fielding the many "what is that jacket you're wearing?" questions.

the play is about a bar stool. much in the vein of the subway car. it would tell the multiple lives and stories of the varied people who've sat in it.... or perhaps it would vary from the subway by making it about one person at several different points in his/her life.

the idea came to me as i sat in the very barstool i inhabited almost a year ago, and pondered my life's and my heart's course. how far i've come, and how little i've done.

duality

there is something uniquely disturbing about doing something so responsible while being at the same time so irresponsible.

tonight (really this morning) i loaded my freshly cleaned clothes into the dryer at 2:17 AM, drunk as can be. and this topic struck me. it's odd. it's like paying bills, or negotiating a land contract while under the influence. it's worth a pause and reflection.

=) (that smiley is for things i think, but do not say)

good night, and good luck.

love,

mole day

ahhh Avogadro... where are you now?

so, my day today will be marked by the fact that i can finally count the beats to "death of an interior decorator" from transatlanticism. i had to be taught, because i couldn't figure it out. the following takes place over two days, and entirely over txt messaging.

"it's in 3/4"
"oh. ok."

...

"yeah.... still can't do it. ain't no drum major no more!"

...

"+1+ (bass drum and cymbal) 2,3 (snare hit)"

...
[several starts at the cd player, lots of tapping and head nodding, and counting out loud]

"holy shit! i got it! where have you been all my life?"

so, it was a good day. first read through for Wonder of the World tonight.

to myself, really...

i won't remember how crappy i'll feel tomorrow at work, but i will remember the nights i stayed up to watch the Detroit Tigers start the series that eventually led to a World Series Championship.

the Roar is officially restored, Detroit.

"it said amateur"

i really needed a tripod for these pictures, but here are some preliminary pics of The Full Monty. like to see how the lighting is looking to the eye of a camera.

maybe i'll try some more tonight. enjoy.

whatever marys

i'm almost too disgusted to even comment.

how do you lose 3 straight games to kansas f-ing city?

i've got an idea: let's lead the entire season, and blow our regional division championship in the last three games. that way, we get to head to new york (who has won 9 straight AL titles) to play on their field in the first round of our team's first playoff appearance since 1987. that sounds like a great way to start.

the stage was set for us to maintain our lead. and we blew it.

on the plus side, i have an orthodontist appointment tomorrow, an "off-site" meeting for work on thursday at Ironwood, and will be seeing David Thedarith on thursday night. and TFM is done from a lighting perspective.
