live between us

it's really a shame that more people don't listen to, or have ever heard of, The Tragically Hip. if i can express my feelings and respect for a band by the number of albums of theirs i own, the Hip would be very well represented, with respect to the other greats in my collection. it's odd, for a band whom i have listened to and enjoyed for more than 10 years now, i know almost nothing about them. the Hip is the only band i've ever seen from the literal first row. front row, center: cobo arena... several years ago. they actually made a recording of that performance, and sell it as a live album. The Hip - live between us. they have been present on every mix tape or cd that i've made since 10th grade. they have been the topic of long conversations regarding the lyrics' meaning, or intention. they have been around longer than i've been an adult.

and all i know is that the lead singer's name is Gordie. and that they're from canada.

that's it. but, i will strive to learn more. i will read liner notes. i will post on discussion forums. i will scalp a ticket into their next show if i have to.
